Weathering Rolling Stock, Part II

The brightly colored and shiny new yellow Athearn FGE box car is due for some weathering. The 1971 era build of this rolling stock should have seen some miles and wear by the middle of the 1980's.

Track Replacement Surgery

Not quite as long a recovery as hip or knee replacement, but getting myself prepared for the task took a little longer than expected. You see, the doctors at the Piedmont Division (PD) first identified the ailment and planned some time ago, as I recall about fourteen months ago (10/2007) that the layout track scheme needed a pair of turnouts to aid in a more direct path between the freight/staging/fiddle yard and the classification yard.

Almost 2 months with no layout progress

TGX Boxcar Arrives in the Piedmont Division
