    Drew up plans for a new main line loop. - Thursday, October 11, 2007

  • After much thought I drew up a main line loop section of track that would allow classified train consists to pull out directly from the classification yard and enter the main without having to back up or make extra moves. Also redrew the lowe deck to include the run around passing track from the locomotive facility to the staging yard lead track and the crossover switches planned for the staging yard lead to the classification yard lead.

Wired all roundhouse tracks, installed SPST on/off switches, added fascia board. - Friday, October 19, 2007

  • Wired all 6 roundhouse tracks to DCC buss and attached SPST on/off switches to 4 of the tracks.
  • Measured and cut 6 holes and attached 4 SPST on/off switches on control panel for roundhouse tracks.




  • Measured, cut and attached fascia board on two areas of the layout, the city side and the staging/wye/roundhouse side.
  • Floated fascia boards with spackle allowed to dry and sanded all areas, then floated more spackle allowed to dry again and sanded again.
  • Painted fascia board with 1 coat of interior latex semi-gloss paint, color is named bedrock, and is very dark and slight green and gray tint.




  • Completed measuring, cutting and attaching cork sheets between roundhouse tracks with 3M 77 adhesive spray.




  • Ran trains again to test track.
  • More images of staging yard and backdrop.
